Natalie Arroyo
Humboldt County Supervisor, 4th District
The dunes, wetlands, beaches, and open spaces along Humboldt County's coast are incredibly ecologically important and beautiful places! I am thrilled to support the designation of lands around Humboldt Bay and along the Pacific Ocean as a new National Monument. These spaces deserve federal protection and appreciation.
Amy Cirincione O'Connor
Founder of Humboldt Bay Social Club
We have always loved sharing our favorite local hikes and surf spots with our guests. They feel so excited to find out about these "hidden treasures." While we love having these spots to ourselves, we also love the idea of celebrating this region that is so rich in cultural and natural resources. The Wigi National Monument designation recognizes the significance of our dunes ecosystem, our indigenous histories, and promotes the best of what Humboldt has to offer. We feel lucky to have such a visionary project coming to life in the backyard of the Social Club.

Eureka City Councilmember, 2nd Ward
I believe we should do everything we can to preserve and protect the coastal dunes in the proposed Wigi National Monument for the good of this unique ecosystem and the species that call it home, as well as for the enjoyment of future generations.
Sarah Schaefer
Mayor, City of Arcata, and Arcata City Councilmember
As a representative of Arcata, I am excited to support the efforts of conservation of our beautiful landscape surrounding Humboldt Bay. The creation of Wigi National Monument will serve to unite our community's efforts in preserving and protecting the landscape and wildlife that is so unique to our area and honoring the cultural and environmental significance of these lands.
Mike Wilson
Humboldt County Supervisor, District 3
This community has been working to conserve and restore the dunes and natural lands of Humboldt Bay for more than four decades. This is an inspiring landscape, a place of peace and beauty, with a deep history of Wiyot land stewardship. It's time to create the future we want to see for Humboldt Bay's remarkable conserved areas-- the Wigi National Monument is a roadmap to the future our community wants to embrace.
